The billing office is horrible. Paid my deductible of $3,000 for surgery. They never sent that to insurance so insurance did not have a record of me paying. I then had another procedure in which I had to meet my deductible again because of their mistake. The problem is, no one will call me back after leaving numerous messages for the billing specialist and her supervisor. I can’t get a return call from either of them. They also charged my card for more than a second bill was and never applied that payment to the actual bill. Insurance is showing they should owe me a refund since I had to pay that deductible a second time but they will not return my call. This isn’t a few dollars, this is a very large mistake on their end costing me $6,000. They could at least call me back and fix the problem they caused. This had been an ongoing issue since July and yet to be resolved.
Associated Urologists' Raleigh location is completely unresponsive when it comes to prescription refills. Most recently, my pharmacy faxed in three separate requests to the fax number they provided for refills. All were ignored. Their voicemail phone tree disconnects your call on the medication refills prompt when you press the button to speak to someone about a delayed refill. When I finally did get through to the person who handles refills, my calls went straight to voicemail. Better yet, the practice then ignored the two detailed voicemail messages that I left for them to process my refill. I even let them know that I was out of medication and was still ignored. This has been going on for two weeks. I had to find another provider on an emergency basis to get my medication refilled. In 2023, it's completely unacceptable to fail to refill a patient's medication. How long does it take to process an electronic prescription? Last time I checked, it was way less than two weeks. If you are looking for a provider that shows that it cares about its patients by providing good customer service, look elsewhere. If you rely on your medication and expect timely refills, look elsewhere.
Honestly I am absolutely shocked by the kindness and care given by this practice. The radiology team is SO sweet and the peace of mind given by being able to get an X-ray and CT scan in the same place is unmeasurable. Editing to add! Claudia in Radiology is a GEM of a person - so kind and wonderful communication. I am so impressed with this office.
I made an appointment months ago. I went to the Dr.'s office and was told I didn't have an appointment. I keep a very detailed calendar so I know that was the day of the appointment. The receptionist told me the office manager would call when she came into the office. I waited 3 hours, she didn't call, so I called and left her a message. It's been two days and she hasn't bothered to call. Mistakes happen, but when there is a blatant disregard for any type of customer/patient service, this is unacceptable.
I only see Dr. Baker, who is awesome. He has been treating me for prostate cancer since December 2021. He did my surgery in May 2022, and I feel really lucky to have had him. My recovery was speedy thanks to his skills. He has a very direct approach, and I like that.
Since this is a review of the practice, I want to be clear that I have no experience regarding the other doctors. But it do interact with the lab personnel, and they are all efficient and cheerful when I go in.
It takes a lot for me to post a negative review of a practice, but I am utterly disgusted with the time waste and lack of sufficient communication from this place. Bear in mind, I had one positive experience with Dr. Baker directly on one item. On a different issue, I was referred to his PA staff and now 42 days into a situation with no info, clarity or path forward. I can't even see my own medical record online or was never provided a physical printout of next steps from my appt (legal?). I had initial imaging done at this facility in Oct and had to continually chase for results. 4 voice mails later, had to hound with a 5th vm where I was given an answer, told I needed surgery and referred for surgery. None of my questions answered, just a click of the phone. When I call back, I am continually dumped to some person's voicemail where I never get a callback. Summary is that I need to start from zero, go to another practice and start over. I'm ashamed that the flow is just to process people in and out--without clarity or honestly empathy--just to make a buck. Thanks for wasting my time, as I wish I can bill you for an invoice of my wasted time.
Their billing department is beyond horrible. Only pay by Credit Card, they lose checks and won't acknowledge a canceled check. Make sure you get everything in writing. They had collections calling me for over a year for a $60 bill I paid. Took over 5 calls to get them to acknowledge that. Good luck if you have to use them.
I saw. Dr Kaspar about a year ago after having a UROLIFT procedure done for the 2nd time! It was not successful in my Opinion. He had the audacity to put me in a room & brought almost the entire office staff in to look @ his handiwork! It was very embarrassing! Plus, it did little to help my issue. He never asked my permission for this.
I will be going back to the practice but will request a different Urologist! He was most insensitive!
